Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This page explains what cookies GroundedHer uses, why, and how you can control them. We keep this in plain language, same as everything else on the site.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember information — like your preferences or how you got to a page. Some are essential for a site to work; others help us understand how the site is used, show relevant ads, or let third-party tools function.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary. Used to remember your cookie preference itself, so we don't ask again on every visit. These are set automatically and can't be switched off.
Analytics and advertising (Google). We use Google Tag Manager with Google's Consent Mode. The default depends on the country you're visiting from, which Google determines from your IP address. In the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and ad-related storage (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) default to "denied": if you accept our cookie banner, that signal updates to "granted" and these tools can then use cookies; if you reject or don't respond, they stay off. Everywhere else, analytics_storage defaults to "granted" and the ad-related signals default to "denied"; rejecting in the banner turns analytics off, and accepting turns advertising on. An explicit choice is always respected, wherever you are.
Grow.me / Mediavine. Our advertising partner Mediavine loads a script called Grow.me on every visit, independent of the banner above, which supports on-site features and ad monetization. Mediavine manages consent for this script under its own privacy practices — see Mediavine's Privacy Policy.
Functional. Our email signup forms (for the mini-course and Calm Diagnostic Quiz) may set a cookie to process your subscription when you submit a form. The Mood & Habit Tracker uses your browser's local storage rather than a cookie, and never leaves your device.
Your choices
When you first visit GroundedHer, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies — this sets the Google analytics/advertising consent signal described above. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's cookies for this site, which will bring the banner back on your next visit. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly in their settings. Because Grow.me/Mediavine manages its own consent separately, our banner doesn't control it — see Mediavine's own policy for your options there.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be set by third-party services we use — such as Google (Tag Manager, analytics, and advertising), Mediavine/Grow.me, and our email provider. These providers have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we'd encourage you to review.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
